BlackRock leads $190m series-D for ContentSquare
ContentSquare, a Paris-based content optimisation platform, has raised $190m in a series-D funding round led by BlackRock Private Equity Partners.
Existing investors BPI France, through its large venture fund, Eurazeo Growth, Canaan Partners, Hermes GPE, Highland Europe, H14 and KKR also participated in the round. Sapiance Capital is providing credit to the company.
The latest round brings the total funding raised by the company to $310m.
ContentSquare will use the fresh capital to continue investing in innovation, including AI-based and predictive analytics, and expand its business across the Americas, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
According to the company, its annual recurring revenues grew by nearly 200% in 2019 and it doubled its staff in the last 12 months from 300 to 600.
In the past year, the company has made two acquisitions. In June 2019, it acquired Paris-based Pricing Assistant, a provider of online pricing optimisation and e-merchandising, and in July 2019, it bought Israeli company Clicktale, an experience analytics company.
