EQT Ventures leads €50m series-B for Luko
EQT Ventures has led a €50m series-B round for French home insurance startup Luko.
Previous backers Accel, Founders Fund and Speedinvest also took part in the round, alongside several angel investors, including the CEO and co-founder of Hippo Insurance, Assaf Wand.
Following the deal, Rania Belkahia, deal partner at EQT Ventures, will join Luko's board.
The company intends to use the fresh capital to further boost its product development, scale up its team and bolster its international expansion across Europe.
Previous funding
Following two seed rounds in 2018, Luko raised €20m in November 2019 in a series-A round led by Accel, with participation from Founders Fund and Speedinvest.
Company
Established in 2016 and based in Paris, Luko offers home insurance products for both owners and renters.
The startup has developed its own hardware and AI technology to provide home management tools, including sensors to track water leakage and electrical consumption. Its latest product is Doctor House, a video consultation service that provides expert advice on home maintenance and how to delay wear and tear.
Luko employs 85 staff and has partnerships with several insurance companies such as Munich Re and Swiss Re.
