Alto invests in listed Novacyt
Alto Invest has taken part in a €3.1m PIPE deal for Novacyt, an Alternext Paris-listed specialist in diagnostic equipment for cancer and infectious diseases.
Alto invested alongside other new and existing Novacyt investors. The investors have collectively received 744,004 shares in the company.
Novacyt is listed on the Paris exchange under the ticker "ALNOV". It currently has a market cap of €33m.
Previous funding
In May 2012, Novacyt received €1.5m from private investors and Arkeon Gestion, with the latter providing €600,000 through its pre-IPO 2011 retail vehicle, which closed on €10m in 2011, according to unquote" data.
Company
Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Vélizy-Villacoublay, Novacyt is a manufacturer of diagnostics equipment for cancer and infectious diseases.
The company's product range includes cytology vials; Novastick, a liquid solution designed to help cells adhere to a glass slide; and two automated analysis instruments, under the NovaPrep Processor System name.
The company listed on the stock exchange in October 2012. Earlier this year, it merged with UK medicine diagnostic specialist Lab21. It generated €1.15m in turnover last year.
