Alto Invest et al. back EZ-Wheel
Alto Invest has taken part in a €5.3m funding round for EZ-Wheel, a French electric wheel manufacturer.
Orkos Capital, BPI France, Ecomobilité Ventures, Poitou-Charentes Innovation (PCI) and Charente-Périgord Expansion also participated in the funding round.
BPI France led the round, investing €2.5m via its €150m Fonds Ecotechnologies.
Orkos invested via its robotics-focused fund, Robolution Capital 1, which launched in January 2012 and held a first close last March on €80m.

Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Angoulême, EZ-Wheel is a manufacturer of electric wheels.
The company's products are designed for use with handling, light vehicles and medical equipment.
EZ-Wheel employs 25 staff.

Alec Lafourcade-Jumenbo is the CEO of EZ-Wheel. Laurent Arthaud, BPi's life sciences and environmental technology director, and Anne-Sophie Carrese, investment director at BPI, worked on the deal alongside Orkos partners Jean-Jacques Bertrand and Pierre-Yves Meerschman; Ecomobilité investment analyst Andreas Von Richter; PCI president Joel Mazet; Alto partner Franck Halley; and Thierry Vayssier of Charente-Périgord Expansion.
