Elaia leads series-A for 1001 Menus
Elaia Partners has led a €1.35m series-A funding round for 1001 Menus, a French start-up catering to the restaurant industry, alongside several angel investors.
Investing alongside Elaia were existing backers l'Accélérateur, Frédéric Montagnon and Jean-Marc Bouhélier, as well as new angel investors Jacques-Antoine Granjon, Michel de Guilhermier and Gilles Samoun.
The fresh funding will be used to expand the company's services across Europe by bolstering its sales team and improving its product for both end-users and restaurant owners.
1001 Menus reportedly gained 1,000 customers (ie restaurants) in the 12 months from June last year and its sales have quadrupled this year.
Previous funding
In December last year, Kima Ventures supplied 1001 Menus with €300,000 in funding.
Company
Founded in 2010, 1001 Menus is headquartered in Paris and employs 18 staff. The company provides a digital service for restaurant owners designed to increase a restaurant's online presence.
1001 Menus provides restaurants with a content management system to upload their menus, images and special offers, which 1001 Menus then publishes through its network of publishing partnerships online (such as restaurant and travel guides).
The company will create a mobile-compatible website and mobile app for the restaurant, as well as give it a presence on social networks, search engines and Google Maps.
Restaurant managers can update their content online to implement changes immediately and can also track 1001 Menus' service through statistics on menu views and reservations or telephone calls made through a channel provided by the company.
People
Xavier Zeitoun is the CEO of 1001 Menus and co-founded the business alongside sales director Thomas Zeitoun and CTO Julien Balmont. Samantha Jérusalmy is an associate at Elaia.
