Cordt and Blomqvist named new partners at Axcel

Copenhagen-based private equity firm Axcel Capital has promoted Lars Cordt and hired Thomas Blomqvist as partners, in preparation for the GP’s fifth fund.
Lars Cordt joins the firm's partnership after 10 years at Axcel, where he was part of the team responsible for Pandora, the GP's biggest ever success.

New hire Blomqvist will be based in the GP's Stockholm office. He joins from a position as partner and head of the Nordic countries at US-based mid-cap investor The Riverside Company, where he completed seven investments in the region. Prior to his time at Riverside, Blomqvist worked for Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan in London.
The two new partners will replace exiting Axcel veterans Casper Lykke Pedersen and Jørgen Lindholm Lau, who have decided to step away from the firm once the investment period of the most recent fund – Axcel IV – runs out at the end of September 2016.
Axcel said the reshuffle comes as part of the GP's preparation for raising its fifth fund, which will be the first vehicle raised under new managing partner Christian Schmidt-Jacobsen.
