Nordea launches impact fund in partnership with Ståhlberg
Nordic LP Nordea Asset Management has launched Trill Impact Fund, a vehicle aimed at investing in non-listed companies with strong sustainability targets.
The fund will be managed in partnership with Jan Ståhlberg, former deputy managing partner and vice-chair of private equity firm EQT.
Ståhlberg's knowledge within the private equity industry will be combined with Nordea Asset Management's expertise across environmental, social and governance (ESG) research.
According to a statement, the investment philosophy of this new venture will be based on investing in companies with a business model that helps achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Furthermore, it will focus on measuring the positive ESG impact both of specific transactions and across the entire portfolio of investments.
"Nordea Asset Management's existing client base has indicated high levels of interest in dedicating investments to sustainable private equity projects," said Nils Bolmstrand, head of Nordea Asset Management. "With this partnership, we will have a unique opportunity to incorporate ESG factors in private equity investments and generate a sustainable impact."
