EQT to launch Huscompagniet's IPO - report
Swedish private equity firm EQT is launching an IPO for its portfolio company Huscompagniet, a Danish residential construction business, according to press reports.
Danish newspaper Berlingske Tidende reported that Danske Bank and Rothschild have been mandated to advise the GP on the listing. Huscompagniet could reach a value of DKK 4bn (€537m), according to the publication.
The IPO is expected to be launched by the end of the year or the beginning of 2021 at the latest.
Rumors of an exit had started to circulate across the market in October 2019, when Borsen reported that EQT was likely to sell the business within two years.
EQT acquired Huscompagniet from FSN Capital III fund in July 2015, in a deal reported to be worth around DKK 2bn. Family office Kirkbi, which owned a minority stake, exited the company as part of EQT's buyout. The GP deployed capital from EQT VI, a €4.75bn vehicle closed in 2011.
Established in 2006 through the merger of Interbyg and FM-Søkjær, Huscompagniet employs 230 staff and operates in Denmark, Sweden and Germany.
