Trill Impact set for venture fund following Domin appointment
Stockholm-headquartered impact investor Trill Impact has made a regulatory filing for Trill Impact Ventures, shortly after it announced the appointment of Alex Domin as partner and co-head of venture.
The vehicle is domiciled in Luxembourg and was registered on 23 March 2022.
Trill announced on 22 March via LinkedIn that Domin had joined the firm and was to be based in its German office. Prior to joining Trill, Domin was a partner at Alpina Partners, where he co-managed the firm's debut growth fund and established the firm's German office. He also held the role of chief commercial officer at sustainable material developer Resysta, which he co-founded as its first investor during his time at Alpina.
Trill Impact held a EUR 900m final close for its debut fund in September 2021, as reported. Trill Impact Fund focuses on the Nordic, DACH and Benelux regions, backing education, healthcare, water treatment and energy efficiency sectors. The fund will deploy equity tickets of EUR 25m-EUR 125m and expects to make 10 to 12 deals in total. It currently has four portfolio companies, according to Unquote Data, its most recent investment being Sweden-headquartered IT consultancy European ID Security.
LPs in the fund include Allianz Capital Partners (ACP), Swedish pension funds AP4 and AP6, as well as the New York Life Insurance Company, according to Unquote Data.
Trill Impact was founded in 2019 by former EQT executive Jan Ståhlberg. The firm is backed by Nordea Asset Management, which acted as global distributor for the fundraise for its debut vehicle.
Trill Impact declined to comment.
