
Ermitage Partners announces five new partners

Helsinki-headquartered Placement agent Ermitage Partners has announced five new partners, two of whom are new hires and three of whom are promotions.
Jan Sasse joins Ermitage following a five-year stint as CEO of private equity firm Tesi. He has prior experience with Norvestia’s Growth Investment team, which he co-founded.
Johan Sund, Ermitage Partners
Johan Sund joins from head of sales and marketing and part of the Swedish management team within the private banking division of Carnegie Investment Bank, where he spent six years. He also has previous experience with SEB and Danske Bank and has co-founded a Sweden-based logistics technology startup.
Anssi Rantala, Ermitage Partners
Anssi Rantala joined Ermitage Partners in 2021 as the firm’s chief economist. Prior to this, he was deputy CEO of Aktia Bank, focusing on life insurance and asset management. Rantala also has previous experience with the Bank of Finland as head of forecasting and as chief economist at the OP Group.
Henri Kaskimo, Ermitage Partners
Henri Kaskimo also joined Ermitage in 2021 and heads the firm’s business development operations. He previously worked as a partner with law firm Waselius & Wist.
Freja Väyrynen, Ermitage Partners
Freja Väyrynen has been with Ermitage Partners since 2021, prior to which she specialised in fund formation and investment management with Finnish law firm Borenius. Following her promotion, Väyrynen is expected to continue to work with Finnish and Swedish clients in investor relations and business development.
Ermitage Partners was formed in 2021 and has offices in Helsinki, Stockholm and London. It is headed by managing partner Jerome Bioux, who was appointed in August 2021, as reported. The placement agent now employs 16 staff and aims to raise around EUR 1bn annual for its clients.
The firm has advised on fundraises including Hamilton Lane’s recent Large Buyout Club funds, as reported.
