Altor-backed Apotek Hjärtat acquires Ada AB
Altor-backed pharmaceutical business Apotek Hjärtat has wholly acquired Ada AB from its parent Tamro Group for an undisclosed sum.
The deal includes the Tamro-owned Apotek1 pharmacies in Sweden, which will be incorporated into the Apotek Hjärtat pharmacy chain. Apotek1's 163 staff will transfer to the service of the buyer.
The transaction entails the 32 current and soon-to-be-opened pharmacy locations and includes Tamro's extensive development work for many more pharmacies in Sweden.
Ownership of the Apotek1 brand remains under Tamro ownership and will be used in many other Tamro markets.
Apotek Hjärtat pharmacy chain is the result of the merger of more than 200 pharmacies acquired by Altor from the Swedish state in an auction process during November last year.
