
Stjernholm leaves IK, SEB's Etemad named new partner
IK Investment Partners has hired Alireza Etemad as a partner and co-head of the GPтs Stockholm office, while 17-year veteran Helena Stjernholm leaves to become CEO of IndustrivУЄrden.
Etemad joins from SEB, where he was global head of corporate finance since 2006. Prior to his time at the Swedish bank, he spent 16 months as a senior associate with Booz Allen Hamilton, managing the adviser's Nordic telecoms team.
IK's new partner also spent five years at Credit Suisse First Boston as a vice-president focusing on telecoms and Swedish industrials, as well as shorter spells at Schroders, PwC and JPMorgan.
As Etemad arrives, partner Helena Stjernholm will leave for a position as president and CEO of asset manager Industrivärden.
A veteran of the Nordic private equity industry, Stjernholm joined IK from Bain & Company in 1998, having spent two years as a management consultant with the US advisory firm.
Her new employer Industrivärden is a long-term investment manager, whose portfolio of equities had a NAV of SEK 83bn by year-end 2014, and has major shareholdings in Handelsbanken, Volvo and Ericsson.
