
Verdane acquires wind power portfolio from Pentaco

Nordic buyout house and direct secondaries specialist Verdane Capital has acquired a portfolio of three wind power product companies from Danish investment company Pentaco Partners.
The portfolio consists of JSB Group, Polytech and Jupiter Group, which all produce parts for use in the manufacture of wind turbines.
Verdane tapped its latest vehicle, the 2013-vintage SEK 2bn Verdane Capital VIII fund, for its acquisition. As a panellist on the private equity leader's debate at the unquote" Nordic Private Equity Forum in Stockholm on 18 May, Verdane partner Henrik Aspén said he and his firm expected the Nordic renewables sector to be a lucrative segment for private equity.
The GP said in a statement it has taken an increased interest in Denmark, and is looking into establishing a local office in the country as a result.
Company
JSB is a supplier of core materials used in the construction of wings in the wind turbine industry. Headquartered in Ringkøbing and with facilities in China, the company employs a staff of 125 and generated DKK 220m in revenues in its most recent financial year.
Polytech is headquartered in Bramming and produces wing protection and efficiency improvement products for wind turbine blades. The company has additional offices in the US and China, employing a total staff of 300.
Based in Køge, Jupiter makes covers for wind turbine nacelles and spinners. In addition to its Danish headquarters, it also has operations in China, Poland and the US, employing 900 people.
