EQT in SEK 410m trade sale of Granngården
EQT has sold GranngУЅrden, a Swedish garden centre group, for SEK 410m in a trade sale.
Norwegian buyer Felleskjøpet will acquire the entire share capital of Granngården, bringing to an end eight years of ownership under EQT.
Following the deal, Granngården's corporate structure will be assumed under Felleskjøpet, but will retain the branding of its locations across Sweden.
Previous funding
The GP acquired Granngården through a management buyout in July 2008, with equity drawn from its 2005-vintage €372m EQT Opportunity Fund.
Company
Granngården is a garden centre chain selling house and garden supplies, pet and animal food, and small-scale agricultural supplies.
Headquartered in Malmö, the company employs a staff of 550 across 108 Swedish stores, generating SEK 1.7bn of turnover and SEK 60m of EBITDA.
