
Seed Capital and SEB lead $4m series-A for Coinify
Danish VC Seed Capital and SEB’s VC fund have lead a $4m series-A for Copenhagen-based blockchain startup Coinify.
SEB Venture Capital will make its first investment in the business, while Seed Capital continues its commitment as existing investor in the Danish fintech company. Seed Capital tapped its most recent fund, Seed Capital III, for the equity.
Coinify plans to use the fresh capital to solidify its position in the European digital currency payments technology space and expand its services into Asia.
Previous funding
Seed Capital was the first institutional investor to back Coinify, investing an undisclosed multi-million DKK figure in September 2014.
Company
Based in the north-western Copenhagen suburb of Brønshøj, Coinify was formed by a merger of Bitcoin Nordic and Bitcoin Internet Payment System.
It provides a digital currency payment platform and exchange services for currencies including bitcoin, ether and ripple.
