Index Ventures and Creandum lead €6.1m round for Kry
Index Ventures and Nordic VC Creandum have led a €6.1m seed round for Stockholm-based video healthcare consultation startup Kry.
Kry's funding round also saw participation from Germany-based VC investor Project A Ventures.
The investment is the first round of institutional capital raised by Kry and will see Index's Ben Holmes, Creandum's Fredrik Cassel and Thies Sander of Project A join Kry's board of directors.
With the fresh capital in hand, Kry plans to expand its service outside of its native Sweden, which is currently the only place in which Kry is available. The company said in a statement it expects to announce its launch in new markets in the coming months.
Company
Headquartered in Stockholm, Kry is a digital medical care service providing video consultations to patients through mobile devices and browsers.
The company operates a medical centre and employs medical professionals to provide consultations on Kry's own platform, which it claims 30,000 Swedes use at a price of SEK 299 per 15-minute session.
