Verdane's Uppländska in Bellmans bolt-on
Nordic direct secondaries and growth capital investor Verdane Capital Partners have acquired construction company Bellmans Åkeri & Entreprenad to merge it with its portfolio company Uppländska Berg.
The new company is expected to have a turnover of SEK 800m and have around 150 employees.
Uppländska Berg is one of Sweden's largest full-service companies in mining. Verdane, a private equity fund specialised in advanced industrial sectors, has been a majority owner in the company since February 2016. Uppländska Berg was purchased with capital from Verdane Capitlal VIII.
The aim of the bolt-on is to create a major player in the construction market through organic growth and additional acquisitions.
The company will continue to be led by the current management, and the owners of Bellmans and Uppländska Berg remain significant part-owners. It will trade under the name BMST.
Company
Bellmans Åkeri & Entreprenad was founded in 1972 and carries out excavation, transport and blasting work, and conveys trucks and construction equipment with operators.
