
Beechbrook backs Kuldeteknisk and ICP Nurseries
Beechbrook Capital has invested in Norway-based refrigeration and heating supplier Kuldeteknisk, and UK-based private nursery operator ICP Nurseries.
The GP's Private Debt III fund provided a unitranche loan to finance the investment of Norwegian private equity fund manager Nord Kapitalforvaltning in refrigeration and heating supplier Kuldeteknisk.
The Private Debt III fund held a first close in August 2016 on £84m. As of May 2017, the fund was 43% deployed, according to unquote" data. The fund provides debt packages of between €5-15m to private-equity-backed companies with turnovers of €10-100m. It primarily invests in private-equity-owned companies in northern Europe.
Beechbrook also provided a unitranche loan to UK-based ICP Nurseries via its UK SME Credit I fund to assist the company's buy-and-build strategy. It operates private nurseries across London and south-east England.
The UK SME Credit I fund held a final close on £150m in February 2017. The GP's first credit fund for UK SMEs is a non-bank credit fund for sponsorless SMEs. The vehicle seeks to invest in UK small and medium-sized businesses turning over between £5-50m. The fund predominantly targets senior secured loans in non-private-equity-backed companies.
