
EQT Ventures leads $8.2m series-A for Varjo
EQT Ventures has led a $8.2m round for Varjo Technologies, a Finland-based producer of hardware and software for virtual and augmented reality computing devices.
The VC vehicle of the Swedish private equity house led the round, alongside other investors including Lifeline Ventures Fund III, the Venture Reality Fund and Sisu Game Ventures.
The capital for the investment by EQT comes from its main EQT Ventures Fund, which held its final close in May 2015 on €566m. As of late August this year, the vehicle had made 17 deals and committed €505m of its capital.

Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Helsinki, Varjo makes hardware and software for virtual reality and augmented reality computing devices. It has patented its bionic display technology, which it claims replicates how the human eye naturally works to create high-resolution images.
