
Blue Equity acquires stake in Fire Eater
Denmark-based private equity firm Blue Equity has invested in Danish fire extinguisher maker Fire Eater.
According to the Danish daily Borsen, the firm acquired a 49% stake in the business, which posted a 2016 turnover of DKK 110m. Blue Equity will support Fire Eater's business development and sales efforts, the private equity firm said in a statement.
The GP launched its second fund in early 2016, targeting DKK 600m to invest in local companies specialising in environmental technology and services. The fund eventually attracted commitments of DKK 707m.
Company
Founded in 1974, Fire Eater is based in Hillerød, north of Copenhagen. It aims to develop new fire protection methods, and has recently ventured into mobile fire protection systems.
The company sells its firefighting installations in 50 countries. It employs a staff of 70 with sales offices in Norway, the UK, Ireland, Poland and South Africa.
