
Northzone leads $14.5m series-A for HappyOrNot
Nordic venture capital firm Northzone has led a $14.5m series-A round for Finland-based customer feedback system HappyOrNot.
Sydney-headquartered venture capital firm AirTree also participated in the round. Northzone principal Marta Sjörgen and a AirTree partner John Henderson will join the HappyOrNot board.
HappyOrNot will use the capital to invest in research and development, in order to enhance its feedback data analytics and refine its customer success management.
Additionally, the firm intends to expand and consolidate its presence in the US, the UK, Germany and France, as well as the Australian and south-east Asian markets.
It also intends to grow its marketing and sales teams from a current staff of 65 to 200 in the next three years.

Founded in 2009, HappyOrNot is headquartered in Tampere, Finland, and also runs a US office in Florida. It operates 25,000 physical Smiley Terminals in airports, office spaces, and retail outlets around the world.
It also offers an online customer feedback system where customers or employees can rate their virtual experiences on a four-stage scale from "smile" to "frown".
Customers include retail chains such as Ikea, Lidl and Carrefour, as well as brands including Microsoft, McDonald's, London Heathrow Airport, LinkedIn and the UK's National Health Service.
The company currently has 4,000 clients in 117 countries. It employs a staff of 65.
