Summa-owned Sortera buys DT Recycling
Swedish construction waste and recycling company Sortera, backed by Summa Equity, has acquired Malmö-based waste management firm DT Recycling.
Sortera intends to expand its services in the construction market in Stockholm and Gothenburg, as well as providing management services and the sorting of construction waste in the Malmö region.
The firm said the deal will enable its services to reach three quarters of Sweden's population.
Previous funding
Norwegian GP Norvestor sold the Nordic waste collection and sorting business to Summa Equity in an SBO in April 2016, divesting its 75% stake. Sortera marked Summa's first deal.
Norvestor had acquired Sortera in May 2012 in a management buyout financed by commitments from its Norvestor VI vehicle. During its ownership of Sortera, Norvestor grew the company organically and through the add-on acquisitions of two Stockholm-based businesses.
Company
Founded in 2010, DT Recycling is headquartered in Malmö. It provides downstream services to waste producers, offering recycling and waste management options in both Scandinavia and Europe.
It has a staff of 12 and expects to report annual sales of around SEK 110m in 2017.
