
L Catterton invests in Ganni
Consumer-focused buyout house L Catterton has acquired a stake in Danish womenswear company Ganni.
The firm intends to expand its brand internationally using L Catterton's brand-building strategy
The private equity firm has previously invested in contemporary fashion brands SMCP (Sandro Maje Claudie Pierlot), ba&sh, Pepe Jeans, Gant, Charles & Keith, Gentle Monster, Rhone and Giuseppe Zanotti.
L Catterton closed its eighth buyout fund L Catterton Partners VIII on $2.75bn, surpassing its target of $2.5bn, in November 2016.
The fund typically invests between $60-500m in high-growth and middle-market companies operating in consumer goods, food and beverages, and retail sectors across North America and Europe.
This is the firm's largest buyout fund to date, and attracted limited partners from around the world.
