Seed Capital, SEB lead DKK 30m series-A for Cardlay
Stockholm-based SEB Venture Capital and Danish venture capital firm Seed Capital have led a DKK 30m series-A funding round for Danish fintech company Cardlay.
SEB's VC fund and Seed Capital invested in the company alongside private investors Thorleif Krarup, Klaus Holse, Jørgen Bardenfleth and Herbert Nathan.
Cardlay intends to use the series-A funding to internationalise its brand by expanding the company's partnerships with banks in Europe and North America and to further develop its features in machine learning and automation.
The investment is a syndicate between the Nordic early-stage investors, having previously collaborated on a fintech investment.
In August 2016, the investors joined forces to lead a $4m series-A for Copenhagen-based blockchain startup Coinify. SEB Venture Capital made its first investment in the business, while Seed Capital continued its commitment as an existing investor in the Danish fintech company.
Company
Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Odense, Cardlay provides a payment card management platform to enable banks' corporate customers to manage their accounts. The software allows users to issue, load and manage cards.
