
Allegra Capital acquires Bring Citymail
German private equity firm Allegra Capital has acquired Swedish postal service provider Bring Citymail from Posten Norge.
The Munich-headquartered firm bought the company from Posten Norge, or Norway Post, the Norwegian postal service owned by the Norwegian ministry of transport and communications, according to Unquote sister publication Mergermarket.
As part of the deal structure, Bring Citymail becomes the property of a holding company advised by Allegra. Upon completion of the transaction, the company will once again trade under its established Citymail brand.
Company
Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Stockholm, Bring Citymail offers mail, parcel transport and other postal services. It was established under the name Citymail and was taken over in 2002 by Posten Norge. Since then, Bring Citymail has become the second largest provider in the Swedish postal services market behind PostNord.
It employs a staff of 3,600 employees, and generated sales of almost SEK 2bn in 2017.
