
Nauta Capital invests €4.2m in Smarp
Nauta Capital has invested €4.2m in a series-A funding round for Finnish startup Smarp.
Smarp is the first investment in a Nordic company made by the GP, which is deploying capital from its Nauta Tech Invest IV Fund. The vehicle held a final close on $170m in April 2017.
With the fresh capital, Smarp intends to expand its European and US operations, and hire 100 new employees across its main hubs based in London, Helsinki and Stockholm within the next 18 months.
Following the deal, Carles Ferrer, general partner at Nauta, was appointed to Smarp's board of directors.
Company
Founded in 2011 and based in Helsinki, Smarp provides an internal content hub for employee communication, engagement and advocacy. Smarp has a presence in 40 countries and has 250 clients, including international companies such as L'Oreal, Valeo and Mulesoft. The startup employs 56 people and, in addition to its main office in Helsinki, has sales and operations teams based in London and Stockholm.
