PE-backed Advania acquires Wise
PE-backed Nordic IT company Advania has agreed to wholly acquire Wise, an Iceland-based developer of software services for the seafood industry, from Norway-based technology company Akva.
Akva is a technology and service partner for the aquaculture industry and is listed on the Oslo stock exchange. It is wholly divesting the company, selling Wise in a NOK 80.6m deal. Advania is backed by Nordic Mezzanine, Via Equity and PFA.
Earlier in September, Denmark-based private equity firm Via Equity, along with Danish pension fund PFA, acquired a 30% stake in Advania. The deal marked the first time Advania had partnered with PFA, an investor in its current fund Via Venture Partners Fond III, Via Equity partner Benjamin Kramarz told Unquote at the time.
Company
Founded in 1995 and headquartered in Reykjavík, Wise develops software services for the seafood industry, with services including banking, payroll and analytical tools, as well as subscription and hosting models. Wise employs 80 people.
