
EQT-backed StormGeo buys DNV GL Maritime
EQT Partners portfolio company StormGeo has acquired DNV GL’s maritime division, a shipping fleet management and advisory business.
The combination of the two companies will result in a new offering to the global shipping industry that will be able to provide fleet management services, including route advisory, navigation and planning, and fleet performance management services, according to a statement.
EQT acquired StormGeo in 2014 and bolted on digital chart publisher Nautisk in September 2018.
Prior to the acquisition of DNV GL, StormGeo employed 400 people and had operations in 15 countries.
