
Summa-backed Lakers makes four buys
Summa Equity portfolio company Lakers Group has acquired four Nordic companies with links to the waste-water recycling business.
he new companies joining Lakers are Elmotorservice Syd and Öhbergs Pumpeservice in Sweden; A & J Pumpservice in Finland; and Elmodan in Denmark. These increase Lakers' pro forma revenues to NOK 350m and its headcount to 140.
Summa acquired Lakers with equity from Summa Equity Fund I in September 2018. It has since raised SEK 6.5bn for Summa Equity Fund II, but still had equity available for bolt-ons from the first fund at the time of closing the second.
The acquisitions were financed with cash on balance and an M&A facility from Swedbank.
Company
Elmotorservice was founded in 1999 and is based in Ystad with additional operations in Simrishamn. The company is focused on sales and services of power tools, electric motors, fans, transmissions and pumps.
Öhbergs was founded in 1957 and is headquartered in Stockholm. It works on waste water applications for municipal and industrial clients.
Elmodan is headquartered in Ishøj with additional operations in Næstved. It was founded in 1959 and specialises in pumps, generators and power tools.
A & J is headquartered in Helsinki and was founded in 2008. It maintains and repairs waste water pumps for industry, properties and construction sites.
