
VC firms back €14.4m series-B for Wirepas
A consortium of Finnish and international venture capital firms has backed a €14.4m series-B funding round for Tampere-based software company Wirepas.
London-based ETF Partners and Dutch investor KPN Ventures took part in the round, as well as Finnish firms Tesi and Vito Ventures.
The company has now raised a total of €22m over four funding rounds, according to a company statement.
Wirepas will use the fresh capital to expand the reach of its platform and support further product development.
Company
Wirepas was founded in 2010 as a spinout from Tampere University. It develops software for radio communications protocol, which can be used for wireless control of Internet-of-Things devices. The company employs 50 people in nine countries.
