
Icon Capital invests in Malorama in NOK 600m deal
Icon Capital, along with trade buyer Loe-gruppen, have acquired minority stakes in surface treatment company Malorama in a deal valuing it at NOK 600m.
The vendor of the shares is the painters' association Malermesternes Andelslag. Members of the association sold their stakes for NOK 240m. Icon Capital took 30% of shares and Loe-gruppen took 9%, according to reports.
Norway-based Icon Capital partners with management teams and provides capital for operating improvements, organic growth initiatives and buy-and-build strategies. Loe-gruppen is a Norway-based construction materials company.
For 2016, the company had an EBITDA of NOK 79.7m.

Established in 2010, Malorama offers products for surface treatment, such as paint, flooring and wallpaper, as well as equipment and accessories. It operates brands such as retail chain Colourful, wholesale and logistics business Farveringen, professional business Mal Proof, and retail chain for SMEs Kulør. The company is headquartered in Oslo and employs more than 80 people.
