Spark Capital invests $15m in tablet startup Remarkable
Venture capital house Spark Capital has provided $15m of series-A funding to Norwegian digital paper tablet startup Remarkable.
The company plans to use the fresh financing to accelerate its growth, scale up its team and further invest in product development.
Previous funding
Remarkable raised $9m in seed funding in 2015 from Norwegian technology incubator and early-stage investor StartLab, Nordic family offices and business angels.
Company
Founded in 2013 and based in Oslo, Remarkable offers a digital paper tablet for note-taking, reading and reviewing documents. Users can create a document from scratch, convert handwritten notes to typed text, take notes on existing PDFs, sync all their creations to the cloud and access them through an app. The company has sold more than 100,000 tablets so far, has operations in Europe, Asia, Oceania and the Americas and employs around 100 staff.
