
Via Equity invests in ESmiley
Danish private equity firm Via Equity has invested in ESmiley, a software service provider for digital self-monitoring and compliance within food safety and food waste, alongside its management.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal is the GP's first from its fourth fund, which held a first close last month and is targeting €175m.
Through the transaction, the GP will help the company further strengthen its market position.

Founded in 2008 and based in Denmark, ESmiley is a supplier of a digital, self-monitoring software-as-a-service for food safety compliance in professional kitchens.
The company's products help reduce food waste. Its subscription-based product is used by more than 6,000 customers, including hotels, restaurants, canteen operators, food production facilities and public institutions. The company operates offices in Denmark and Norway, with operations in more than 15 countries.
