Edge invests in Blast
Edge has invested £1.7m in e-sports media network Blast.
The firm is currently investing from Edge Creative Enterprise Fund, which closed on £40m in November 2015. The fund was 70% deployed as of July 2020.
Investment manager Niall Santamaria led the investment for Edge and has been appointed as a member of its board.
Blast will use the funding and Edge's network to accelerate its international expansion and optimise its production capabilities, while bolstering its broader UK operations as it looks to hire.
Previous funding
Blast raised €12.5m in new funding in May 2020. The round was led by Johan Gedda, co-founder of Rocket Software, and Vækstfonden, a financing and investment vehicle with funds from the Danish State and the European Investment Bank. The round was completed with further investment from existing investors Creandum, Heartcore and Maki.
Company
Founded in 2016, Blast is headquartered in Copenhagen and has offices in London. It is a global e-sports media and broadcasting network.
