
CVC sells AR Packaging to trade for $1.45bn
CVC Capital Partners has signed an agreement to sell portfolio company AR Packaging Group to listed company Graphic Packaging Holding Company for $1.45bn.
The US-based trade buyer provides sustainable-fibre consumer packaging, and was bidding alongside Finnish company Huhtamäki, according to Mergermarket.
The acquisition enhances Graphic Packaging's global scale, innovation capabilities, and value proposition for customers throughout Europe and bordering regions, and is expected to add $1.1bn in annual sales and $160m in annual adjusted EBITDA.
The exit comes five years after the GP, via CVC Capital Partners Fund VI, acquired the company from Accent Equity Partners and Swedish investment group Ahlstrom Capital.
The deal is subject to customary adjustments and is expected to close in four to six months.
