Verdane invests in Finnish grocery company Fiksuruoka
Verdane and other existing investors have contributed to a €19m funding round for Fiksuruoka, a Finnish online retailer of surplus dry-food groceries and non-food products at discount prices.
The investment makes Verdane a significant minority shareholder in the company.
The GP deployed equity from Verdane Capital X, which held a final close in January 2019 on SEK 6bn. The new funding will go towards bolstering the company's position in Finland, and its international expansion in Europe.
Other e-commerce grocery retailers backed by the GP include Swedish company Mathem, and Norwegian grocery retailer Oda, which was previously known as Kolonial.
