Polaris makes IR and investment team hires
Polaris has hired Amanda Platek to establish an investor relations function within the firm.
The GP simultaneously announced the appointment of associates Frederikke Beck and Olga Court-Payen to its investment team.
Platek is to report to managing partner Jan Johan Kühl, according to a statement. In her new role, she will be responsible for Polaris's fundraising activities and its contact with investors.
Prior to joining Polaris, Platek held an investor relations role at Capstone in New York. She also has experience in Barclays' Brokerage Division.
Newly appointed associate Beck joins Polaris from Kirkbi. She previously worked at JP Morgan's Nordic M&A team in London.
Court-Payen joins from Carnegie Investment Bank and has prior experience at Oaklins.
Polaris announced the appointment of Daniel Repfenning as director and promoted Martin Bang-Löwgren to a new role as head of sustainability in May 2021, as reported.
Further recent activity from the Denmark-headquartered GP includes the launch of a DKK 1bn flexible capital strategy, as reported. The fund intends to invest in junior debt and minority equity deals, investing DKK 50m-250m (EUR 7m-27m) across around 10 companies.
Polaris is currently deploying equity via Polaris Fund V, which has a target of EUR 550m. To date, the fund has backed companies including Swedish online sports clothing retailer Stronger and Denmark-based financial adviser The North Group.
The fund has surpassed its EUR 550m target and is expected to hold a final close before the end of 2021.
Polaris declined to comment on the fundraise.
