
Inventure and Lifeline invest €2m in Wolt
Inventure and fellow Finnish VC Lifeline Ventures have led a €2m funding round for Finnish food delivery startup Wolt, unquote” has learned.
The round also saw participation by Ilkka Paananen, the CEO and co-founder of Finnish mobile games developer Supercell.
Inventure director Ekaterina Gianelli told unquote" that Wolt plans to use the new capital for international expansion, marketing and hiring new team members.
Wolt's announcement came during the startup's attendance at Finnish tech startup conference Slush, where Wolt had been presenting on stage.
Previous funding
Inventure and Lifeline first backed Wolt in November 2014, when the two VCs invested a combined €400,000 in a seed round.
Company
Founded in October 2014, Wolt is the developer of a food delivery app for restaurants in Helsinki and the Turku region. Headquartered in the Finnish capital, Wolt delivers food from more than 300 restaurants.

Ekaterina Gianelli is a director at Inventure. Miki Kuusi is the co-founder and CEO of Wolt.
