ThingLink raises $2m in Inventure-led second funding round
Helsinki-based image interaction company ThingLink has raised $2m in a funding round led by existing backer Inventure.
Social media and advertising technology angels also contributed to the round alongside Tekes, the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology Innovation.
Several new appointments to the company's board were made as part of the financing round. The firm will relocate to New York shortly.
Previous funding
In 2010, Inventure and Lifeline Ventures provided ThingLink with $1m in the firm's first funding round, according to unquote" data. The investment enabled the firm to develop its image advertising network for brands, retailers and advertisers.

Founded in 2008 and based in Helsinki, ThingLink is an online platform for creating and distributing interactive images for blogs, web pages, social media and advertising. The company's platform counts more than 220,000 users in 46 countries. Users are able to add interactive tags to any online image and share tagged images on social media, blogs and websites.
People
Sami Lampinen is managing director and partner at Inventure. Entertainment Media Ventures CEO Sandy Climan and former Facebook media sales director Craig Coblenz join as directors on the company's board. Hillary Billingsley, former Meredith Publishing and Newsweek executive, has been appointed chief revenue officer.
