Hasso joins Hansoft round to close on $10m
Hasso Plattner Ventures has entered the share capital of Swedish software firm Hansoft to hold a second and final close of the companyтs earlier Creandum-led funding round, bringing the total to $10m.
Creandum backed Hansoft at the end of January this year, leading an $8.4m funding round for the business. A syndicate of private investors backed the company alongside the firm, including Mårten Mickos, the current Eucalyptus Systems CEO and former MySQL CEO.
Before the Creandum-led round in January, Hansoft was entirely self-financed (and profitable), and was equally owned by its founders Erik Olofsson, Hans Andersson and Patric Palm.
The funding has been earmarked for new hires. Specifically, the company's executive team will be expanded to include a chief growth officer and chief revenue officer, both of whom will be based in the San Francisco office. Hansoft's US base will also have its sales, marketing and customer teams bolstered with the capital injection.
Company
Founded in 2005, Hansoft is headquartered in Uppsala with additional offices in San Francisco and Tokyo. The company has developed software for the collaboration and management of project plans for working teams.
According to Hansoft, its customers chiefly operate within the electronics, aerospace, game development and telecoms industries.
People
Patric Palm is the CEO of Hansoft. Shmuel Chafets is a partner at Hasso.
