Inventure leads €3.2m funding round for CyberLightning
Inventure and other investors have raised тЌ3.2m of expansion capital for CyberLightning, a Finland-based industrial Internet of Things (IoT) platform.
The financing round included commitments from a number of EU-sponsored funds and Tekes, the Finnish funding agency for innovation.
Sami Lampinen, managing director of Finnish early-stage venture capital firm Inventure, was appointed to CyberLightning's board as part of deal.
The investment will be used to accelerate growth and fuel the company's international expansion.
Previous funding
CyberLightning has previously received around €1.5m of funding from investors including the EU, Tekes and ELY-keskus.
Company
Founded at the Center for Internet Excellence at the University of Oulu in 2010, CyberLightning has been profitable every year from 2011 on.
The Finnish business's main product is an IoT software platform called CyberVille, which allows corporate customers to receive data from IoT-based sensors. Where CyberLightning differs from its competitors is in the presentation and analysis of data, which is shown in a 3D overview for easier comprehension.

Ville Mickelsson is the chairman and CEO of CyberLightning and Sami Lampinen is the managing director of Inventure.
