Northzone joins $4.1m round for PlayRaven
Nordic VC Northzone has joined a $4.1m funding round for Finnish touchscreen game developer PlayRaven, alongside Creandum, London Venture Partners and angel investor Jari Ovaskainen.
Playraven referred to the round as an ‘extended seed investment round' that had been finalised on November 18.
The round brings the total funding raised by the company to $7.5m since 2013, and will help fund development of PlayRaven titles.
Previous funding
In January PlayRaven raised $2.3m in a seed round backed by Creandum and London Venture Partners, as well as Finnish angel investor Jari Ovaskainen.
Company
Founded in 2013, Helsinki-headquartered PlayRaven develops games for touchscreen devices. It launched its first title, free-to-play game Spymaster, in September 2014 and employs around 10 staff.
People
Daniel Blomquist is on the investment team at Creandum, while David Gardner is a partner at London Venture Partners. Lasse Seppänen is the CEO of PlayRaven.
