Partech leads $36m series-B for Finland's M-Files
San Francisco-headquartered VC Partech Ventures has led a $36m founding round for Finnish document management business M-Files, alongside existing investors.
The previous backers of M-Files, Draper Esprit and Finnish Industry Investment, also participated in the funding round, three years after leading a series-A for the company.
With the new capital in hand, the Finland-founded business will fuel its sales and marketing efforts, and fund expansion in North America, and the EMEA and Asia-Pacific markets.
Partech drew on commitments to its 2015-vintage Growth Fund for the series-B.
Previous funding
Draper Esprit (then DFJ Esprit) and Finnish-government-backed growth investor Finnish Industry Investment jointly invested €6m in M-Files in April 2013, for the company's series-A round.

Founded in Finland, M-Files is a content management software developer for enterprise document handling. The company's products allow for companies to manage documents and content across multiple platforms.
Originally headquartered in Tampere – where it retains its European head office – the company has since relocated its base to Dallas, Texas.
