Almi Invest backs CamCoil
Almi Invest has agreed to invest in CamCoil Systems Sweden, a company producing reels for the metal industry, together with a private investor.
During Q2 this year, the company acquired technological equipment and patents in order to secure a position in the European market. The fresh capital will be used to fund the company's European expansion. Following Sweden, the focus will be primarily on increasing sales in Germany.
The company aims for international sales based on its own technological products, but without handling manufacturing; it is instead relying on partners and their existing resources.
Venture capital firm Almi Invest backs companies from the early-stage to expansion phases. To date, Almi has invested SEK 1bn in close to 350 growth companies across all sectors, including Halon Security, Axiomatics and FishBrain. Almi Invest is a subsidiary of Almi Företagspartner.
Company
Based in Karlstad, CamCoil was created as a spinout from Swedish engineering company Camatec Industrial. The company develops and sells reels for the metal industry, working together with Camatec Industriteknik as well as local production companies.
