Värde buys Portuguese real estate asset manager
Värde Partners has acquired Portugual-based real estate asset managers Imopólis - Sociedade Gestora de Fundos de Investimento Imobiliário and its closed-ended commercial real estate fund FIIF ImoDesenvolvimento.
According to a statement, Värde plans to use the platform to consolidate its market position in the local real estate market, where rental growth combined with low vacancy rates has contributed to a favourable investment environment.
Established in 1993, Imopólis specialises in the administration and management of real estate assets in the Portuguese market. The firm's real estate portfolio acquired by Värde includes business parks, office space and commercial land plot assets in Lisbon; it has a gross asset value of €186.6m.
Imopólis intends to use the fresh capital and technical capabilities provided by Värde to enhance and expand its portfolio in Lisbon and the surrounding areas, according to CEO Ricardo Valente.
Värde is a $14bn global alternative investment firm specialising in investing across a broad array of geographies, segments and asset classes, including corporate and traded credit, real estate, mortgages, speciality finance and infrastructure.
Francisco Milone, partner and head of European real estate, led the transaction for Värde.
