Dunas Capital hires two for new fund-of-funds

Madrid-based fund-of-funds manager Dunas Capital has hired former Advent International executive Juan Díaz-Laviada for its investment committee and Javier Reguart as analyst to work on its new fund-of-funds.
The new vehicle, Rainforest Dunas Iberia Fund I, has been registered in Spain and has a target of €100m. It will focus on Spanish and Portuguese GPs, mainly targeting buyouts with a minor exposure to venture capital, private debt, infrastructure and special situations.
Díaz-Laviada will be an independent member of the investment committee, which has the role of approving transactions made by the fund-of-funds. Prior to joining Dunas, Díaz-Laviada was country head of Advent International Spain and international partner at the firm. He has also served as president of the Spanish private equity trade body Ascri and country head for Dresdner Kleinwort Benson Private Equity Spain.
Reguart will join Dunas as a private equity funds analyst, evaluating primary opportunities for the new fund-of-funds. Prior to joining Dunas, Reguart worked for Fonditel, the pension plan manager for Telefónica Group.
