Alantra strengthens credit portfolio advisory team with two hires

Alantra has appointed Marcus Evans and Christos Stefanidis as managing directors in the UK and Greece, respectively, to expand its credit portfolio advisory team.
Evans will be based in London and will focus on assisting clients in deleveraging credit portfolios, making non-core businesses sales and sourcing and optimising capital.
Evans has 19 years of experience in European banking, with expertise in providing regulatory capital advice to banks, financial institutions and private equity investors. Prior to joining Alantra, he was a financial services deal advisory partner at KPMG, where he led the firm's European financial services deal network and was a partner in its European Central Bank office.
Stefanidis will be based in Greece and will join Alantra's Greek credit portfolio advisory team, composed of partner Vasilis Kosmas and senior adviser Kyriacos Riris. Stefanidis previously worked for 16 years at PwC as a director in its deals/corporate finance team, focusing on financial services transactions and leading several non-performing loan sales and credit service carve-outs.
In addition, Alantra has opened two new credit portfolio advisory offices in Brazil and China.
Alantra's credit portfolio advisory office in Brazil is based in Sao Paulo and comprises two senior advisers. The firm plans to make three more hires and reach a target size of five members by the end of the year.
Alantra's credit portfolio advisory office in China consists of two professionals based in Shanghai. The team provides a range of banking advisory services to financial institutions in China and helps international investors to access the Chinese distressed debt and non-performing loan market.
