Alantra appoints three as managing partners in Italy
Alantra has appointed Stefano Bellavita, Francesco Moccagatta and Marcello Rizzo as managing partners in Italy.
Bellavita, Moccagatta and Rizzo will lead the Italian investment banking activity of Alantra, which includes M&A, equity capital markets, corporate broking and debt advisory. Renato Limuti will continue to lead Alantra's credit portfolio advisory business in the country.
These appointments follow the exit of Lorenzo Astolfi, who spent 11 years with the firm and contributed to the growth of its Italian operations. He left Alantra to become executive vice-chair CIB and co-head mid-corporate and sponsor solutions for Mediobanca.
Alantra has a strong presence in Italy, with 30 professionals based in Milan. Its team has advised on 27 transactions in the Italian market for a total volume of €3bn, including the sale of Vivaticket to Investcorp; the acquisition of KKR's Sistemia by BC Partners-backed MCS-DSO; and the purchase of L&S by Clessidra.
The firm intends to continue the expansion of its Italian operations, further consolidate its presence in the mid-cap segment, and actively look for opportunities and strategic partnerships in its investment banking and asset management activities.
Headquartered in Spain, Alantra is a global alternative asset management, investment banking and credit portfolio advisory firm specialising in the mid-market. The group employs 540 professionals across Europe, the US, Latin America and Asia, and has €2.3bn in assets under management in direct investments.
