
VC-backed eShop buys ChicPlace
Spanish venture capital-backed online retail operator eShop has bought competitor ChicPlace.com.
According to press reports, the deal saw ChicPlace's management team retain a minority stake in eShop.
The acquisition follows eShop's recent purchases of competitors Mimub, Mamuky, Elarmariodelatete, Todovino, Expitit, Enolobox and Nonabox.
Following the transaction, eShop will boost its business across Spain, Italy and France, and expand its team, which reached a headcount of 100 at the time of publication.
Previous funding
In May 2014, eShop secured a €7.6m funding round from Qualitas Equity Partners, Bonsai Capital, Kibo Ventures, Onza Capital, Nature Capital and Agora Inversiones.
