
K Fund launches €50m maiden vehicle
Spanish venture capital firm K Fund has launched its maiden vehicle with a €50m target.
K Fund's team consists of several Spanish entrepreneurs and financial executives, including former business angel and venture capitalist at Vitamina K, Iñaki Arrola; Carina Szpilka, the former CEO of ING Direct in France and Spain; Ian Noel, portfolio manager at Bonsai Venture Capital; and Pablo Ventura, managing director at JME Ventures.

The fund's LPs include institutional investors such as the European Investment Fund, as well as private investors.
Investments
The vehicle aims to ink 20 transactions in early-stage businesses based exclusively in Spain. In terms of sectors, the GP targets companies operating in the internet and mobile technology sectors, with particular focus on software-as-a-service operators, as well as marketplaces, fintech, marketing, logistics, big data and security.
The fund will invest in seed rounds with an equity ticket ranging between €100,000-500,000 as well as up to €1m equity injections in series-A funding rounds.
